What do you get when you have a park full of rambunctious kids running around in a burning trailer, swinging sticks, playing with reptiles and shooting off rockets THEN throw an entire squad of uniform O.P.P officers?
Well there was no riot gear but I can assure you everyone who showed up for The O.P.P kids day at the Orillia Perch festival on the shores of Lake Couchiching had a riot!
I had the privilege of helping out at one of the many activity stations this year and had hundreds of kids take a shot at firing the newest gadget for kids fishing...."the Rocket Fishing Rod"
The folks at Fogo Sports gave us a few to handout and a couple sharpshooters that shot the bobber into a Frisbee over 30 feet away won themselves a Rocket Rod of their own!
All in all it was a great time, Hot dogs, Reptiles, lots of games and every kid got a prize at the end of the day!
Hats off to the O.P.P and the Orillia fish and game club for putting on a great event.
And a special thanks to Sgt. Frank Kreisz and all the volunteers who made it run so smoothly!

WAT A BLOG.... ITS ALWAYS A GREAT TO SEE THAT THE O.P.P. AND FISH N CANADA HAVE TAKEN THE TIME OUT OF THEIR DAY TO SPEND SOME TIME WITH KIDS... MY HAT IS OFF TO ALL WHO PARTICIPATED... AS I'VE STATED BEFORE I TRULY BELIEVE THAT TEACHING A CHILD TO FISH MAY SAVE THEM FROM GETTING CAUGHT UP IN THE UN-LAWFUL ACTIVITIES THAT MANY FIND THEMSELVES IN... WONDERFUL REPORT AND OH MY I'VE BEEN TYPING IN CAPS... oops... once again Congrats Everyone.
